Reslin® is a plant-based, biodegradable resin made from linseed oil and sugar beet molasses. It produces results ranging from a soft, flexible finish to a rigid material if mixed with additives. It is a nontoxic alternative to traditional epoxy resins.
Composition
Linseed oil, sugar beet molasses
Handling Notes
- Use 1 part Reslin® activator to 2 parts Reslin® oil
- Warm both components in an oven at 140° F for 20 minutes (do not use a microwave)
- Mix thoroughly, then pour into the mold and add effects; it will harden in 15 minutes
- Let rest for 20 minutes before placing in the oven, then heat in two phases
- Cool immediately after the second phase, and allow 12 hours for full hardening
