A wide heap of dry clay powder in olive-khaki, coarsely granular with paler lumps breaking the surface.
  • A smaller, paler heap of the powder, its grains fine and cream-coloured rather than the olive-khaki of the main shot.

New Catawba 10 is a high-temperature stoneware clay composed of 99 percent North Carolina clays and feldspars. This sample is dry clay. Water is added to it to make wet clay, and then it will be formed and fired.
