A small heap of dry clay powder in warm rust orange, coarsely granular with a faint swirl where it was poured.
  • The powder heaped much higher and seen closer, its rust-orange grains coarse and lumpy with fines spilling down the slope.

Dark Star 10 is the darkest clay body produced at Starworks Ceramics. This sample is dry clay. Water is added to it to make wet clay, and then it will be formed and fired.

  • Dark Star 10 Clay can withstand a hot and long firing
  • It is often used for wheel-throwing, hand-building, and slab work
  • When fired in a reduction atmosphere, it results in a rich, dark brown or red color
