A small oval of pale blue-white foam, its surface smooth and slightly domed with a faint grey smudge.
  • The same oval from the side, its domed profile and flat underside visible and the pale blue surface finely granular.

Foam core is a lightweight sheet material made from polystyrene sandwiched between paper or rigid plastic.

Handling Notes

  • Commonly used for sculpting and creating various objects
  • When working with foam core, use a sharp X-Acto knife
  • Score and cut in one confident motion with a fresh blade; making multiple passes can crush the foam layer
