Polyhydroxyalkanoate pellets are a bio-based plastic substitute made from polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA), a polymer produced by microorganisms. When processed, PHA behaves like a conventional plastic but can break down more readily than many synthetic plastics.

- Can be used for injection molding (the process of injecting molten material into a metal mold, where it then cools, solidifies, and is ejected); fiber extrusion; additive manufacturing; and other plastic-substitute applications
