Braided cotton cords are cones of yarn spooled onto bobbins, then loaded onto a braiding machine that rotates the bobbins to braid the yarn and produce lengths of flat or round cord (depending on the machine).
Handling Notes
- Flat braided cord is woven in a warp weft method with 2 layers of weaving on top and bottom
- It is narrower and thinner than shaker tape, and more intricate patterns can be achieved
- Round braided cord can be woven in a warp/weft or rush/envelope pattern
- Not great for outdoor seating
